Cannot Open Manager After Installation

I installed the latest version. After I installed and try to open it. It has not response.
the picture is for your reference.

What version number? What edition? What operating system?

Have you installed it?

I don’t know what version of Manager. I click download and then it downloaded directly.
My operating system is Win7.
Where can I find the edition?

I just installed it. It does not work too.

32 or 64 bit

64

The version of Manger and WebView2 Runtime.
It stuck on the waiting 127.0.0.1

That’s strange

  • Manager v21.3.38 64 bit works OK for me on
  • Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with WebView2 (version from about 2w ago and blocked form internet access).

Not sure what the 127.0.0.1 access relates to.

  • bottom Left corner of my Manager screen shows the path to my application data folder & the option to change it. If Manager could not find the path to that folder, then the startup business selection page could not be displayed

  • Not sure what the proceeding string is as I cant read that language.

Perhaps uninstalling then re installing may help. I assume you have backups of your data files, or can backup the application data folder.

It has to be webview2 causing all the hassles.
Once again I have uninstalled it because of freezing etc.
Making this mandatory while it is still a work in progress will kill Manager for Windows users.
Especially if Edge is not you default browser!
webviewerror neterror

I have never had a problem with Manager/Webview on Windows 10 64-bit and multiple versions of Manager.

So it must be some combination of Window’s version and webview that causes the problem.

I generally keep Windows up to date

Yeah, so do I, but I’m getting sick of the problems webview2 causes.
Like many, my computer is not solely used for manager and once manager (with webview) loses focus, ie using another program with manager in the background, it stuffs up.

It relates to the installation of Manager Server.

I thought @cnalphaglobal was running Manager desktop which locally runs a web server and accesses it via webview2 / Edge. So 127.0.0.1 would be edge accessing the background local Manager web server.

However I have never seen this displayed in Manager desktop, so I’m not sure where I should look for it. I assume the local server normally responds so fast users never see it. The fact @cnalphaglobal can take a screenshot of it suggest communication with the local server is broken or the local server can’t fulfil a request.

Edit
Manager desktop used a random port in the past however there are reports of it using a fixed port now. http://127.0.0.1:55667/ So perhaps some users have another process using that port.

A fixed port is easily checked, just open another window in Manager desktop and look at the address bar

I am using desktop version.
I used to see it after installing webview2.
It doesn’t show after removing webview2.

Just checked and Manager Desktop v21.3.38 is using port 55667.

For those having problems with Manager desktop not starting reliably.

  • Before starting Manger
  • Open an elevated command prompt and type “netstat -ab” without quotes
  • port 55667 should not be listed
  • Start Manager desktop, repeat the above and port 55667 should then be listed
