Calculations in Custom Reporting

I am looking for some advice from you all

As i am doing the accounting work for a appartment block ( dutch VVE) i have several Owners who have a part of the savings of the money at the bank of the appartmennt block

And as the manager is perfect for this work i would like to have all the retporting in one program, as now i have also the list to be produced in excel…

I would like to create a report where the total sum ( of a group = reservering) is devide by a value ( indicated in the custom field = at the customer)

It only to report and not to reloates sumes to different accounts

Now the question is; can you have in custom report make a calcutaion of a value multiply by an onter value (sum of a postings)

owner 1 has 110/850 part of sum(10.000 )
owber 2 has 105/850 of 10.000
etc

And is so yes? how to do so

Look forward hearing from you

Unfortunately calculations are not possible in custom fields AFAIK. It’s marked as an Idea though here more than 2,5 years ago but there are a lot of ideas and it seems the program’s developer @lubos simply hasn’t had the time yet to implement it.

It’s recommended to start reading the Guides and use the forum’s search option before posting questions. Searching for custom fields gives 50+ results.

No problem. BTW, we do it in Excel too.

Would it be possible toexport / import a custom report in the program

Than it could be made by trail and error

Import:

Export:
See last note in the Create custom reports guide:

I hope somebody proves me wrong but I believe the program doesn’t support division or multiplication in custom reports.

All

possible i was not clear seeing the different responce

as manager is an accounting program and not a calculation program ti will re write the questions

  1. is it possible to export ( not the data) but the actual designed report and modify it and re import it in the program ( approval of the form runs via the official channels)
  2. the dat to be presented in my report is a sum of a ledger at a certain date
the outcome of ledger is devided by a number in the customer additional field
no date is to be stored of modified
  3. the other information for the report are already in the options for the custom report

look forward hearing from you

Answers to your numbered questions:

  1. No. The way to do this would be to clone the report while viewing it. Then you can modify the clone’s definition before creating it. The end result would be what you want, but you do not export the report definition or re-import it.
  2. Custom reports report transactions, not calculations. Depending on exactly how you are accounting for these owner savings, you may be able to obtain totals by grouping in the custom report. This would most likely require the owner savings to be recorded via special accounts in Manager.
  3. This does not seem to be a question.

I have found a (temp) solution
have made a seperate uncatagorized group of accounts , one for each owners

make a journal entry to move the amount due to the special accounts and print the report
( same format as the rest)
remoce the journal entry and i have a decent report in the annual review

hopefully a more neat solution could to be able to calculate in the reporting, and as long you onky work in the reporting it willl not give a headache

For the reporting to the stakeholders without making any firm journal entries and deleting the journal entries i have found the following solution; (in my case)
and it could be usefull to others

I have created some invetory items with no quantity and value
in the discription i created the line what to report; ‘‘share of savings account’’

Than i make a quotation to the stake holders and mofify the titel to “Reporting to Stake Holders”

in the quoation i can make the calculation as i want
and the reporting (quote) willl have the same format as the other reporting, but all has no result in the balace sheet; no value and no journal entry and keeps it simple
