This Morning I got this message when I trying to backup my file. I have got five company file on my server, two of them has got this message, both company’s bank account has disappeared, and all my transaction has gone.
@11138, you have not shown in your screen shots that either statement is true. Your first screen shot seems to show only that your software is outdated for the business you are trying to open.
Your second screen shot is a portion of the history file. It does not indicate anything has gone missing. It is just a list of actions taken between 21 August and 16 November. In fact, this screen shot supports the idea that these transactions have not gone missing.
Yes, probably because the file was opened by a later version. Your third screen shot, by the way, is proof your transactions are not missing.
Why do you say this? Go to the Bank Accounts tab and post a screen shot of the list that appears.
This is confusing. Which edition of Manager are you using (desktop, server, or cloud)? It sounds like you may be using two different editions, which would explain the problem if one is the cloud edition.
I’m using server edition, all user access file only by web bowser.
those transaction has gone missing is edited from 21 Aug to 16 Nov.
The transaction I am showing is I have added a customer during 21 aug to 16 Nov, then I have created a new invoice at 16 Nov, the invoice still there but the customer became missing.
Your business file names indicate you have been importing backup files. The error message suggests a file has been opened by a later version. You have made confusing statements about storing backups in the cloud and on your server, which creates the possibility of easily opening and working on files different from what you think you are using.
You need to track down your application data folder and examine everything in it. Right now, your situation is too uncertain for further diagnosis.
I am sure I am not using backup file, because I have never have any issue sine this Monday. I have downloaded a desktop version of manager.io to see if my backup file is well backed up, then I have discover that the backup file is also not up to date.
How I backup file I use the backup button to download a file (File name = company_name(The-date-i-backup).manager)to my local computer which I have press the backup button on, I never needed the backup file.
The funny things is I have 5 companies on my server, only 2 companies have affected. other 3 companies have no problem at all.
All company I am working on daily basis. so all company should have a daily history. only affected company have a missing history.
This statement contradicts your claim in post #3 that transactions were missing when you imported the back up file.
The desktop edition would have been a later version than your server edition. Therefore, after you have opened a business on the desktop edition, you cannot open it on your server edition until you update your server edition.
Your second screen shot in post #1 proves that you do not have a missing History file. But it does show there are no surviving transactions between August 8 and November 16. Judging from the actions listed and the reference numbers they contain, it appears you may have used the Undo function to purge those transactions. Manager does not spontaneously delete transactions. Your business file is there. It opens and can be read, so it is not corrupted. There is no record in the History file of deletions, which would appear in the History file if you deleted transactions from their Edit screens. Therefore, the only way they could have been removed from the file is using the Undo button after viewing them in the History file.
At some point, someone may have misunderstood the functionality of the History file and mistakenly used it to remove transactions. I recommend better training of users, added restrictions on user activity, or both.
