Balance Sheet

When I created a chart f accounts I created and Asset Account called stock and entered my Opening Balance. This amount shows on the balance sheet.

I then entered a stock purchase into the same account. When I look in Summary - Assets I can see the new balance with both amounts. If I click on the balance I can see both entries.

However I can only see the opening balance when I open Reports / Balance sheet.

Why is that?

Your post is confusing. How did you enter the purchase? What do you mean by being able to see “the new balance with both amounts?” How did you define the balance sheet in the Reports tab? Please provide some screen shots.

Set period of report correctly.
And then see if your problem solved or not.
