Any development will be announced in this topic.
I noted the last reply to this topic was 4 months ago, but I want to leave in my vote as well, that adding automated billing/invoicing besides the Recurring Invoice will be a massive plus on Manager, and probably a feature that will get to win more clients. In a world where everything seems automated, I think itâs a step backwards if automation is not enhanced on Manager.
@lubos hi Lubos. Is there any chance of batch emails being implemented soon? We have one particular client for whom we have to manually send an average of 250 invoice and 250 statements per month. Batch emails would be an amazing addition for us. Thank you.
@lubos is there any news on this request of bulk emails? When can we expect the implementation?
@lubos It would be helpful to get an update about this idea, and if it will get added anytime soon
See answer by @Lubos in post 9 of this topic:
I mean batch emails not âautomaticâ emails.
Cause it would be best if the user has to click a button every time he sends emails, but could send multiple at a time to different email addresses.
I hope thereâll be update this year ![]()
year 2014
are we still waiting or was it just too hard?..or virtually impossible?
This topic seems to go many years back and I am much more interested of batching customer statements than invoices. This manual method of sending one statement at a time is really annoying. Is there any light in the tunnel?
Is there any news or information as to when we might see this feature? Batch emailing of recurring invoices and or customer statements is a fairly fundamental need for most users I would think. I am certainly one of them ![]()
Waiting patiently myself âŚ. would make life so much easier
For all my fellow âbatch emailâ feature awaiting friends, I may have a temporary solution for you, while we patiently wait for a proper built in solution to be implemented.
Because the process of sending an email and moving to the next invoice are fixed actions, it is ideal for using a macro and works very well in my testing. You can use any macro recording program (if you have a prefered one) but my goto is Macro Recorder and I prefer the portable version simply because I donât have to install anything. If you are interested in that, you can download it by selecting it from the arrow next to the download button on their website. Otherwise just download the normal installer. The demo version does everything Iâve ever needed so the program is effectively free.
Before you start, I suggest going to âSettingsâ and set hot keys for record, play and stop. I use F8, F9 and F10 respectively, but you can use whatever you like as long as it doesnât trigger something else in manger.io or windows.
I suggest setting up a test business with yourself as a client, just so you donât annoy real clients with test emails and or have to create fake invoices in your real company. You can always just delete the .manager file later, but its up to you and your situation.
Now, with manager.io and macro recorder open, select an invoice to view (any one at this stage, it doesnât matter). Press the hotkey to start recording and go through the normal process of click âemailâ, click âsendâ and once the email is sent, click the double left arrow on the top right to move to the next invoice. Now press the hotkey to stop recording.
You should now see the list of actions in Macro Recorder. This will include getting the window focus for manager.io and all the mouse movements, delays etc. Most of these are unnecessary unless you want to see the mouse moving around. So you can clean this up by deleting the first window change action and all the mouse movement actions. I then edit the waits to a nice round number (because OCD
) and make the delay after clicking send to be a second or two longer than it took to send, just to allow for any delay that might cause the macro to go out of sync when doing a long run. You should now have an action set that looks similar to the picture at the bottom of this post, and you can save this to a file for later.
To use the macro on the day of your recurring invoices being created, open the invoice tab and âviewâ the first invoice that was created. In the âPlayâ tab of Macro Recorder, set the number of repeats to the number of invoices you need to send. This will also correlate the number on the top right showing the number of the invoice selected, of the total number of invoices, displayed between the move forward/backward arrows.
Now you should be ready. Click your mouse in the manager.io window to give it the focus and press the hotkey to âplayâ the macro. It will click the email button, then the send, then move to the next invoice and repeat this action until all the invoice have been sent, which should be the exact number of repeats you set.
On a side note, I use the setting under email, to send a copy of emails to a second email address, so I get a copy of every invoice and I can ensure they have all been sent. This was particularly useful when doing it manually and once I know they have all been sent, I can delete them.
Hope this helps someone, especially if you are dealing with a lot of invoices that need to be sent.
