Reading: Bank and Cash Accounts

To add a Bank or Cash account title in your receipts/payment voucher, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Bank and Cash Accounts tab and set up two entries named ‘Bank’ and ‘Cash1’.
  2. If you want to see each of these accounts separately in reports and summary view, you need to create control accounts and assign the respective bank and cash accounts you created to each of those. The control account will automatically appear in the Chart of Accounts.

However, please note that in Manager, most transactions are entered in other functional tabs, thereby automating many decisions about account posting and reducing errors. So journal entries are relatively few. Most record transfers between accounts. In fact, no transaction involving the actual receipt or payment of funds by a business can be recorded via a journal entry.

For more detailed information, you can check this discussion on the Manager Forum.

Remember, if you have any questions or issues, you can always refer to the Guides provided by Manager. They have a vast amount of information that can help you navigate the software.

@Md_Shamim, your question was moved to the public forum. Please do not use private messages for general questions like this.

Receipt and Payment documents (you call the vouchers, but that is not a term used in Manager) are destined for custoners and suppliers

They have no business knowing what cash or bank account you used

Subject: Urgent: Unresolved Issue - Follow-up on Forum Post

Dear Tut,

I need urgent attention to the issue I raised in my recent forum post. Despite moving the query to the public forum, the problem remains unresolved. I appreciate the visibility but need a solution. Your prompt assistance is crucial.

If you searched the forum you would find that the easiest way is to add the Bank Account number to:

Customer - Edit: Billing Address
Supplier - Edit: Address
Your Business - Settings → Business Details → Edit Address

I am fluent in English. You want the “Vouchers” i.e. Receipts and Payments to show a Bank account or Cash Account title. So you can put such title and number, etc in the address boxes as explained and they will show up on each receipt and payment.

Alternatively you could use Custom fields but then you have to type this information in every receipt or payment you create, hence the advise to using Customer, for Cash you can generate a generic single one Called Cash Customer and in Address put Cash Payment.

If your question is to have a different title such as CASH RECEIPT or BANK RECEIPT then you need to manually enter this information in the edit screen (see example screenshot):

If I may guess, You wants the Paid From field value to be displayed on the printed document?

It’s a good idea to show the printed document image you are referring to, and show what you want in the picture.

Dear Eko

I understand you are trying to help me but I’d like to clarify that my concern goes beyond basic functionalities.
Given the complexity of handling multiple cash/bank accounts, the primary issue is not the voucher title but the lack of clear visibility regarding the selected account on the printed voucher. The challenge is to easily identify which specific cash or bank account was used for a transaction.

Having used Manager since 2016, I seek a more advanced solution. If there are functionalities or settings within Manager that address the explicit display of the chosen cash or bank account on the printed voucher, insights on these advanced features would be invaluable.

Considering the depth of this matter, I kindly request that we pause further discussions for now. Instead, let’s await input from either @Lubos or @Tut and other Manager, as their expertise may provide the nuanced guidance required.

Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to the insights from the platform’s key experts.

Exactly, I mean the same…

IF this is the one @Md_Shamim looking for,
I do practice a solution for my business, which will not automatically show the Paid from on the payment printed form but select from anther field which is a drop-down [Custom Field] set to “Show at the top of printed documents”

Please use the exact terminology used in the Manager software. Creating your own naming scheme means no one else knows what you are trying and say, forcing everyone else to guess. This has nothing to do with English language skills.

As for your request, customs and supplier have no need to know what bank account your business is currently using internally. Doing so will raise questions when you choose the change bank or bank account type.

So what is your use case to support this behaviour.

The terminology I’ve used is consistent with the standard employed in the Manager software. The original post was private and shared exclusively with Lubos and Tut; however, Tut converted it to public, leading to the current confusion.

I completely understand your concern about revealing internal bank account details to customs and suppliers. I agree that it’s unnecessary and could raise questions in the future, especially during bank or account type changes. To address this, I’ve suggested using internal codes or short form instead of full bank details. This not only enhances security but also facilitates reconciliation, especially in scenarios involving multiple cash counters or cash books.
I’ve also included a standard format with the original post to ensure clarity and understanding for everyone. It’s important to note that these suggestions involve advanced options and may not be fully addressed in a public forum setting. That’s why I specifically reached out to experts like Lubos and Tut for their insights on how we can implement these enhancements effectively.

It is not! Take your use of “Voucher”. Nowhere in Manager documentation, guides, application is there mention of Voucher.

@Tut @lubos I need to know from you. Could you please reply about my query.

My only response was to delete your personal attacks on other forum members. The situation illustreates why you should not use private messages for general questions in the first place. You limit yourself to help only from those included in the private message, who may have no answer. And you deprive the broader community of the benefit of reading the discussion. You were provided a solution by @Shan in post #14, but have apparently decided to ignore it.

Dear Tut,

I want to express my gratitude for @Shan’s effort, but I need to clarify that the proposed solutions aren’t what I’m seeking. I’m looking for a definitive answer from you or @lubus on the feasibility of a specific matter.

On the matter of personal messages, I’d like to highlight a situation where I’m serious about something, yet someone provides less-than-helpful ideas and questions the clarity of my inquiries. In such a scenario, how should I respond? It seems there’s a discrepancy in how responses are handled based on personal inclinations.

Regards….
