Just updated Ubuntu Server to 25.10.27.3048 now Email & PDF not working. The Following error :- Chromium distribution ‘chrome’ is not found at /opt/google/chrome/chrome
Run “pwsh bin/Debug/netX/playwright.ps1 install chrome”
Is there any chance of knowing what will be required of the system before proceeding with updates please? It appears that things are randomly removed with without preemptive measures available.
I don’t really want to bundle chromium with server edition. But I can make it easier so when users click PDF or Email button and chromium is not present, server edition can download it and install it on demand.
yeah i think having a message when clicking the buttons when the error presents itself that chromium is not installed to use these features do you want to install it now yes, no would improve the user experience for sure
Working on it now. It will be good for desktop edition too because PDF generation won’t work if users open desktop edition in regular web-browser (some users do)
The latest version (25.10.28.3055) now supports installing Chromium from within the program. When missing Chromium error happens, user will be redirected to install chromium screen.
Excellent can confirm now operational. It does seem slower than previous implementation. Formatting is fine but can be slower when firing off many emails. Thank you for solving much appreciated.
(May possibly be worthwhile also adding and invoking the Chromium Install option from the “PDF” button as well?)
