Hello dear, after new updates and at the inventory items, the Unit Cost field is missing.
is only showing average cost. how can I make unit cost appear again?
I’m wondering why Unit cost
column is important?
I assume one reason could be that Unit cost
shows even if there is no stock in inventory. Another reason could be that if your Unit cost
and Average cost
are different, it means your inventory unit costs should be recalculated.
Is this why you are asking for this column?
Exactly, but the difference is that average cost is showing the cost before tax and if I bought an item and got discount for it the average cost goes different, but unit cost was showing the cost after tax even if I purchased an item and paid for it or got full discount. and this point is very important to me for limited access users usage.
Too many unnecessary settings distort the system. In my opinion, the inventory unit cost should be removed from the settings. Unless it has another use, which I’m not aware of.
I have more than 2000 items, unit cost make me and other users to know the cost for each item for make pricing easier to customers
I’m not talking about the average cost, I’m talking about the unit cost listed in the settings. Which was replaced by the recalculation. I said it should be removed if it has no other use. I also have items in stock and I saw that they were not necessary because they were replaced by the recalculation. In any case, this is just an opinion. The developer knows better than I do what is in the manager’s best interest. I apologize if my opinion is contrary to or does not reflect the wishes of others.
Inventory Cost Correction
screen is suggesting what unit costs to create, update or delete.
When you use inventory items in sale, production orders or inventory write-off, the cost of sale is calculated based on the unit costs stored in Inventory Unit Costs
screen in Settings
.
Can you please read https://www.manager.io/guides/inventory-cost-correction
It seems like you have misunderstanding what purpose unit costs have.
Thanks for the clarification, @Lupos. I know how to use this feature. But my question is, for example, I’m using average inventory cost and I want to record a sale, and the average cost on the transaction recording date is $4, for example. $4 is supposed to be used for the cost per unit sold. Why would I want to adjust the cost per unit since I’m using a specific inventory flow method? Please clarify, because in my opinion, this type of transaction violates generally accepted accounting standards and practices.
In my opinion, recalculating is sufficient. If it has another purpose, please clarify. Perhaps there is another use that can help me in the future.
