My Summary tells me I’ve got 3 transactions with a date later than today. How do I find these easily, to make sure I’ve not made a typo in entering the date?
Look at the various tabs. Future-dated transactions will show in a different color. Sort by clicking the Date column if necessary (default display order varies by tab). Also, understand that all 3 transactions may have come from a single form, depending on what type of transaction was involved and how many line items were on it, as well as what accounts were selected.

You could create reports extending into the future, but it would take longer to do that than to quickly click on the tabs. Start with the most frequently used tabs, probably Receipts & Payments, Sales Invoices, and Purchase Invoices.
