Transaction ID in a Custom Field

Hi

Is it possible to create a custom field that automatically updates?

My example would be a Transaction ID for helping with an audit trail.

E.g. Purchase Invoices or Payments PI xxx or just xxx ( xxx = A number )

No.

It maybe a thought for any future updates to have a Transaction ID that auto updates and can be available for documenting on any supporting any paperwork that relates to the transaction.

Example: Purchase invoice when entered or delivery note when entered.

I think that the software is excellent and has great benefits for all users.
