Since the last two updates I am missing the TAX report

It was always very easy to take over the amounts calculated into the quarterly VAT return form.
1a, 5a, 5b etc.

Why has this form been removed from the newer IO versions?

Tax reports have been moved to Localizations. Read the Guide about Localizations.
