Hi all
what is the solution for same items assets
for example i have 5 same printers
shall i give them one by one asset item codes?
because if i sell one of them or despose one of them i can not find soulution for it
use a different asset for each printer
Unless your assets are individually and physically tagged or “earmarked”, it doesn’t really matter which one gets disposed from your books.
That is assuming they all have the same NBV.
When Code
field was introduced in Manager, it was only used to improve sorting and searchability. Of course coding has a lot of other advantages, but that was left for the user to explore.
Recently, Code
and Reference
fields were used as alternate identifiers to be used in Batch operations, this only works when these codes are unique. So it’s recommended not to have any duplicate codes.
For your fixed asset situation, I’m sure you can identify your assets by tagging their location and date purchase, which will help you identify them.
However, as I said, if they all share the same NBV, you don’t have to go through this entire exercise.
