No. That information is not passed to the theme displaying the transactions.
This happens automatically.
Everything the same tax code
If all items have the same tax code:
Only the total is displayed:
Different tax codes for each line item
But as soon as you have different line items with different tax rates:
It displays it on the default theme:
Other built in themes do this too
The other built-in themes also support this (e.g. “Smooth Orange”):
And so do custom themes
If you create a new custom theme, it also supports this automatically. You probably don’t need to do anything, your theme likely already does this.
We may be talking about two different things.
What I suspect the OP is referring to, I’ve mentioned in my reply above. This is contained within the table.columns data.
