Request feature to include line description and custom field in search

@lubos Hi Lubos,

It seems when I add line description or custom field (placed in lines) it cannot be searched. I tried with receipts / payments / journal entries.

I think this is quite necessary because the reason people add extra information in line description and custom field (places in lines) is because this is something important to keep in record. If we cannot search anything in there it really makes it more difficult to revisit such information.

If it is an existing feature and I should turn it on somewhere in setting, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

I just found the solution, for payment/receipt/invoices, I can change to “lines” view, and then search deeper in each line.

for journal entries, there is no option to view “lines”, and but I can go to batch view, and then search with Ctrl + F (no pre-programmed search box in the software)

just wonder if there is any better way :slight_smile:

There is not.

Eventually all transactions will need to have Lines view where applicable.
