Recover shifted deleted .manager files

Hi Team,

I was trying to shift data from one PC to another but accidentally I searched .manager files in the C drive and shift deleted all.

As I opened the manager all my businesses were removed.
Please assist me with how can I recover the data, as it was 4 years of data.

Have you looked in the Recycle bin if you really used Shift + Delete, then this is not of use as Windows deletes the files permanently?
Do you have a backup - making backups regularly is very important?

Hi Joe,
It is not there in Recycle bin.
I used to take back up but due to a very busy schedule, I didn’t take backup for a long time.

Please help.
Thanks

Manager desktop is stand alone software which just runs on your computer. There is no cloud copy of your business data.

Having automated and manual backup systems for your local programs is clearly vital if you value the data.

If you haven’t not managed your backups in the past then it’s not possible to create a backup of lost data now.

To attempt to undelete file you have deleted in Windows would require research on other forums.

While I feel your pain you are in the wrong place to address that task.

Failing the above you will need to re enter all data since your last backup.

Going forward you may be better off using the cloud / NG Software hosted server version of Manager.

This topic should be made into a must read for all Desktop users

Try these:

  1. System Restore in Windows if you have it activated in the past.
  2. There is a hidden folder in C drive called $Recycle.Bin you can copy that folder to another drive and try to get access to its subfolders and search there you might find it.
  3. As a last resort use File Recovery programs if this happened recently there is a good chance it can be recovered. The trial versions of most programs allow you to do the recovery only when you want to save the files it requires payment.

Whoever uses desktop standalone version, always make a backup once a month in onedrive. Even if your hard disk crash or you accidentally deleted which is the case here, you will always have a cloud backup.

The backup frequency should depend on the business needs, the value and number of transactions.

Daily backups at least, imho
