Quote acceptance

There is a new column in quote view which show if quote has been expired or active. But how does system know if the quote has been accepted? I am not aware of this function. can someone explain it?

You have to refer to it in a Sales Order or a Sales Invoice either by using Copy to or by manually filling in the Order or Invoice.

sales invoice always carry the order number but only in one case it is appearing as quote is accepted. It’s a wonderful feature which we wanted for long time to keep track of sales quotations. We do not create sales orders but purchase order with copy to function.

The old invoices carried the alphanumeric value of the Quote number.

The new workflow you create a link.

You can test this by manually editing one of the Invoices of an expired Quotes, cut the manual Quote number and enter it in a Quote field that should appear next to the Customer field like this.

Sale and purchase transactions are not connected in the way you seem to think. A sales quote you give to your customer has nothing to do with a purchase order you give to your supplier. The only reason to copy a sales quote to a purchase order is if the sales quote is accepted and you need to purchase inventory to satisfy it. But that action, by itself, does not tell the program the sales quote was accepted.

Ok, Thanks, now I know how it works? As this is new feature, old invoices needs to be connected to respective quotes.

A small suggestion on this. Insted of changing the Quote Status from Active to Accepted when invoiced, can we give option in Web view for customer to Accept and Reject the quote in Web url.
Then if we create a Sales Quote or Invoice let that be in status.

No. That would require giving our customer the ability to edit your accounting records, a terrible security risk.
