Printing font problem

i use manager server verison,
i use the printer is EPSON 690. i have tried with 2 printer models.
invoice/DO printing from manager is not clear at all. the same printer when used to print from excel , it prints clear.
So it is the problem with the font.

There is no option to change font size or style. Please assist.

What do you actually mean by not clear? please explain better.
in your computer devices page, what is the default print settings for your printer?

Are you printing directly using the Print button? Or are you generating a PDF and printing that? If the first, try the other.

we are using 1+3 paper for our dotmatrix printer. when we print any DO or invoice in manager, font pixels are little scatterd and colour also very week. 1+3 paper copy also very less visible and letter scatterd.
same come to word or excel printing font pixels and color are very good , 1+3 paper all copy are very clear and letters are perfert in all pages

we have similar problem in 2 dotmatrix priter epson LQ-350 and LQ-690 (Both are brand new printers)

when viewing the invoice, right click the invoice and select Print preview

a new window will open. now click the gear wheel icon
image

remove the tick mark from Enable Shrink-to-fit
image

now try printing. if the result is not as expected, click the Change font option and select a larger font size and try again.

if none of the above works, use the PDF button and print from there.

we are using windows 7

i dont see the same screen as in your screen shot

how to change font option?

@shaheerlatheef which web browser are you using to access Manager? I noticed that you said you are using Server Edition.

Try using a different browser and see if you have the same issue.

Web browsers allow you to specify a fallback font for if no other font definitions are found. It’s possible (although I think unlikely) that it is falling back onto this default. If we find that it works in another browser, then we can work towards fixing it in your favourite browser too.

Examples of browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera.

i am not sure @shaheerlatheef mentioned about the version. it was @ismail who mentioned it in the first post.

Thanks for picking up on that. I hadn’t noticed that the user had changed, just assumed it was the same person.

Hopefully @ismail can get back to us to let us know how they went with their problem, as well.

We are using google chrome
Server edition latest version

Ismail is my manager

Aha! Thanks for the clarification.

Please try with another browser as well, e.g. Firefox or Internet Explorer. It will help to confirm or rule-out a browser specific issue.

Also make sure you have tried Tut’s advice (post #3) about clicking on a different button.

It’s not actually clear whether you’re actually using any of the buttons (Print or PDF) … or if you’re using “File” > “Print” instead (which you should probably not do). It might not work the same way as the Print button does.

I tried in firefox and internet explorer
printing is good

any setting is there for google chrome for the same

there was always some issues with chrome browser for reasons known and unknown.
if Manager is working fine in firefox or internet explorer, its better to use the same instead of chrome.
that is the only solution at present.

Great! Now we’ve confirmed at least that it’s a difference in one browser.

Use the menu on the far right and open up the browser settings for Chrome:

Look for the item labelled “Customise fonts” and click on it. If you can’t find it, type ‘font’ into search in the settings to filter out the available settings to just those with the word ‘font’ in the name.

What fonts do you see here? (below is a screenshot of mine, wondering if you have the same fonts or something different showing up)

We will try to get Chrome working, but at least now you know that you can use another browser as a workaround. Hopefully we’ll be able to fix Chrome too

on Internet exporer for printing a single page invoice it take three pages for printing
first page is blank and third page is overriding our printing letter head header
if check the below screen shot

same page in chrome it takes only on page

Okay. Since you wanted to use Google Chrome anyway, it’s not a major issue for you - correct?

How did you go with changing the fonts on Chrome, did it solve your original issue?

i changed the fonts as same as your chrome setting
result old same

without using any browser is any front end application is there for manager server

no. even if such an application was available you will lose the functionality of server edition because you will have to update this application locally on every computer you access Manager.

Hi,

the problem not solved yed.

Manager printing through
1 ) chrome - fonts not clear ( letters are very lite),
2 ) IE → prints perfectly clean, but the problem is it leaves 1 page in begining and the 3rd or following page prints the continuation and prints from 1st line of page start which overwrites on the printer letterhead logo.
we tried all options in print settings of chrome, IE and also the on the printer default settings. attached above is default printer setting of Epson LQ690.

some one might have faced this problem before and solved possible or can we set this now please.
