Ability to pin an entry would be helpful. It would give users quick access to entries that need further processing.
By pinning it, you won’t have to scroll through the entire listing to find it when you want to update it or process it.
In the inserted picture, the user wishes to pin the highlighted transaction to add extra information once information becomes available.

What about using a custom field for this purpose?
Search nor custom fields are directly pinning item(s) on listings. Pinning would always show these items on top irrespective of searches. The screenshot by @Abeiku may be a bit confusing as he puts it as fourth entry but pinned items are supposed to be on top unlike flagged items that are just highlighting an entry (for that you can use a custom field)

I agreed with that, but pinning an item like on a forum would always put it on top. Flagging an item acts s as you indicated as a reminder and provides quick access to important conversations. For flagging one could consider using custom fields that can be used in search or just for sorting.
