PDF Export File Names No Longer Include Customer Name (Recent Update Issue)

Hi Team,

After the recent update, we’ve noticed a significant change in how PDF files are named when downloading Sales Quotes and Customer Statements.

Previously, the exported PDF file names automatically included the customer name, which made it very easy to identify and organize documents. However, with the latest update, the file names are now generated as generic names such as:

  • Sales Quote_View.pdf

  • Customer Statement_Transactions.pdf

This creates a major operational challenge for us, especially since we handle a large volume of quotes and statements daily. We now have to manually rename each file, which is time-consuming and increases the risk of errors.

Request:

We kindly request:

  1. To restore the previous naming format (including customer name in the file name), or

  2. Provide an option in settings to customize file naming (e.g., Customer Name + Document Type + Date).

This feature was extremely useful for document management and workflow efficiency.

Looking forward to your support on this.

It looks like the PDF rendering has changed the naming convention for the PDF file at the point of download. Quotes used to have the quote reference number and contact associated, Purchase Orders had the Purchase Order reference Number and contact associated within the naming convension. Now it only returns “Quote” or “Purchase Order” with no reference number.

The same applies to Payslips. It used to have the employee name in the naming convention, now it only says “Payslip”.

I assume this is related to this specific post mentioning Statements as well…

There is nothing I hate like silence and no response or no quick attempt by Manager.io workers or team, to the questions and issues raised by the clients.

I don’t know what they want us to do as clients.
