How do I set up payslips to show year to date on salary, superannuation and PAYG
would also like to have payslip numbers documented and updating automatically when I create a payslip
You cannot. Payslips are not payroll records, they are only the transaction which creates your obligation to pay the employee. You can drill down through the Employee clearing account and the specific employee to see a record of transactions affecting that subsidiary ledger. But there is no year-to-date summation.
This is not available. You could add a custom field and enter numbers, but there is no automatic capability. Manager handles payslips by employee and date.
But only if the employee has a balance under that account, once their transactions balance to zero, they or their transactions aren’t viewable.
Yeah, and even if you could see an employee’s record regardless, that doesn’t address the desire for year-to-date totals. The fact is, Manager’s payroll capabilities are fairly basic. Payroll is not a straightforward thing to incorporate into an accounting system. A lot of what you’d like to show has little to do with a company’s accounts. And requirements and approaches vary radically by country. That is why third party payroll processors make such a nice living.
