" No transaction dated before lock date can be created or updated." I have tried to set System lock Date to 10 Years Before , Still i am facing the same issue. The Snapshot is attached , Can any one tell me how to Fix this Issue?
In My Case I have to update my inventoey item quantity , when I update it says " [No transaction dated before lock date can be created or updated]" However I set the lock date before Creation of inventory , I have been using this software since 2018 , I set the date in year 2000 , (to allow All Transcations even before 2018) , Still same issue Persist. The Issue is not with set date as I changed it 5 Years Back or 20 Years Back , I am facing same issue.
There is no date Option While you update or Create Inventory item. Only I Can Change System lock Date and I tried but failed to get rid of this message.
In This Example my Lock Date is 31 Aug 2021 , and Today I want to add a New Item in my inventory, However I am unable to add new inventory item neither I am able to update my existing inventries items.
as @Joe91 has explained you cannot add inventory items with a starting balance when you have a lock date set. this is because you have older transactions and Manager assumes the oldest date in your transactions as your starting date. so when you are creating a new inventory item with a starting balance, this quantity has to be updated for a date which is already locked by the user.
if you are making backlog entries, i suggest you remove the lock date and enter your data.
The lock validation is triggered by the fact that you’re trying to post a starting quantity to your inventory item.
Starting balances by definition occurs before any lock date you use, so that’s that.
The question you should ask is why a newly created inventory item has a starting quantity before lock date? That should never be the case.
Next you will have to create the item with 0 starting quantity and then search for the transaction that you’ve missed and correct it, but to be honest, no one cares about a 100 of something that has Zero value so why bother?
Alternatively you can just create a negative inventory write-off or a goods receipt dated after the lock date. I am not sure if the goods receipt would work, but it never hurts to try.
