I am reaching out to seek assistance regarding an issue I am experiencing with receipt references. Currently, I am unable to change the receipt reference numbers permanently. When I manually update the reference for a receipt, the next receipt reverts to the old reference number sequence instead of continuing from the updated one.
Could you kindly assist me in resolving this issue?

The current receipt reference is 31419403
I manually update the reference for a new receipt to 2025001
However, when I create the next receipt, the system reverts to the original sequence, assigning it 31419404 instead of continuing from 2025001
Manager is very simple in the way it does the auto numbering of references. It will only continue counting from the largest number even if you manually inserted a lower number it will be ignored. You can search the forum and look at the guides but the last highest number is used when trying to use the autonumber feature.
Our businesses use the autonumber feature and all staff know not to touch it. I recall that some topic is about how to disable manual entry but you need to search the forum for that.
Manual numbering is a bad idea in any case and if you can manage to avoid it Manager will work like a charm for years.
