Is there a way to show depreciation on profit loss separately and not included in expenses on the profit loss statement?
Ie
Income (total)
Expenses (total)
Profit/loss before depreciation (sub total)
Depreciation
Profit /loss (after depreciation)

You can do that in multiple ways but the easiest method is to go to:
- Settings > Chart of Account
… from there you can Edit the account in question and set it’s group to nothing.

Go to Manager → your business → Settings → Chart of Accounts
- Profit and loss statement → New group → Name: “Depreciation”
- Profit and loss statement → New Account → Name: Your first depreciation group. Group: “Depreciation”
- Profit and loss statement → New Account → Name: Your second depreciation group. Group: “Depreciation” etc
- Profit and loss statement → New Total → Name: “Profit/loss before depreciation (sub total)”
- Profit and loss statement → New Total → Name: “Profit /loss (after depreciation)”
- Profit and loss statement → click on reorder arrows → drag items to desired order
Go to Manager → Fixed Assets
- for each of your fixed assets
- Click on “Edit” → Check “Custom depreciation expense account”
- Select the appropriate depreciation account created above
