It was working yesterday, I am now updated to 21.4.60 and I have to keep entering the invoice number manually.
Having same issue with sales quotes and orders and might be same with purchase orders or quotes to invoices
yes this update is required.
This bug appeared sometime after v21.4.56. I can duplicate it.
I cannot duplicate this. A sales quote reference is copied automatically to a sales order. And both sales order and sales quote references are copied from there to sales invoices.
Please do not complain about what “might” happen. Take the time to check. If you had done this, you would know that purchase orders and purchase invoices do not include a field for purchase quote references. So there is no expectation that they would be copied.
From the beginning we were directly copying sales quote to sales invoices and it auto fetched new sales invoice number, now its not doing that. Nor when copying to delivery notes its not catching that invoice number

Delivery note reference is also not auto generating and its not fetching default location.
That was not what the initial bug report was about. It incorrectly stated that sales invoice numbers were not carried forward when sales invoices were copied to delivery notes. You are complaining that automatic reference numbers are not generated. That is a separate issue. Please report it in a separate topic. Burying it in another thread almost guarantees it will not receive attention.

I restarted the cloud server again for the updated version just to be sure. But somehow the reference number is still not being generated when copying from sales quote to invoice or and other transaction when copying it to new like invoice to delivery notes.
The fetching of sales quote and invoice number in sales invoice and delivery notes are working now fine thanks alot.
@fahadalarab, you have diverted this topic with unrelated issues. I already asked you to report your issue in a new topic. The bug reported here was fixed. I am closing this topic.
