Investment - some functions not work

I tried to use the “Investments” functions but found the below problem:

  1. The system default account code “Investment gains (losses)” does not shown any amounts in the “Summary” even there are some journal entries selecting this account code and input some amounts

  2. I created a report on “Realized investment gains (losses)” but the reports is not shown correctly in accordance with the disposl information entered in the journal entries

Can someone demonstrated the correct way to record disposal of investments and the relevant realized investment gains (losses) and generate the reports other than the below guides?

I’m not sure if the problem exist because I use Journal Entries to record the purchase and sell of investments intead of using Payments and Receipts.

Have you tried using Payments and Receipts?

Tried, and same issue happens

The gains/losses only exist if you have sold the investments

It would help in understanding if you could show some screenshots of the transactions you have entered, the resulting Investment tab and the reports

The guides are unreliable and do not reflect the options available in the current version, 25.12.6

The chatbot in the guide tries to help but it isn’t great either
