Inventory Totals not reducing

I have discrepancies in my inventory totals for pieces of apparel. A stock-take was undertaken at the start of 2022 and all item lines balanced. I have had sales in 3 item lines and all 3 lines have not reduced from start year totals. All sales have been non-invoiced sales. All receipts issued have included the appropriate item code (as per the inventory item). The number of sales match the differences in each product line total. The only difference in procedure I can think of it that I used to do a sales invoice. Does a reducing inventory total depend on a sales invoice and receipt? I am currently using version 22.3.18 and have updated throughout the year. Could it be a bug if not an invoicing issue?
Edit: Sales invoice generation does reduce the item totals. So it appears that non invoiced sales is an issue.

Hello @PeterW59, you could post screenshots of the following:

  • Inventory quantity summary report for the period when this issue took place.
  • Your active tabs
  • The edit screen of the receipt in question
  • The edit screen of the inventory item in question

In my edit above I tried a sales invoice and all worked as expected.

You need to enable the Qty column in the Invoice and enter the quantity.

That could also be the problem with the receipt as well.

My guess is that you anabled inventory items and delivery note tabs and you have not been compliting the cycle by making sure that you dedicatively make delivery notes everytime you make an invoice to a customer. The invoice effects sales values and the delivery note affects the quantities. So if you havent been making dilivery notes for your respective invoices then no movement will happen. Ofcourse the location too has to be defined in the delivery note. However if you dont do invoices you could pick sold inventory items from the edit page of reciept then define the inventory location. That does the trick too.

Thanks @eko @Mule1 for responses. Upon review of last years invoice/receipts the quantity box was enabled. This year as I was doing non invoiced sales and doing a receipt only the quantity box was not enabled so @Ealfardan picked it, Thank again.
