Although I agree, quick sales processing for retail is a necessity for many businesses nowadays but I’m not going to place this in ideas yet since POS isn’t on the radar of the developer just yet.
And I do not think it would be. We use separate POS systems for our businesses but use Manager for tax accounting. From the start we learned that Manager is not an ErP nor a POS but an Accounting applicationl. If anything I think that some features are oi=poorly implemented ad distract from being an Accounting app only.
There is no need to include it, like @eko said Manager is an accounting program, a good practice is to import POS sales in manager at the end of the day, hopefully a easier way to batch create or import with be created in the future
Program functionality costs development and maintenance resources, which is even more the case if the functionality is well implemented. An excellent product does not need to do everything, it just needs to do what it does do well.
Good point of sales systems are targeted to the particular industry they support.
Manager’s business model is not resource heavy.
So while it’s not impossible for Manager to be converted to a POS system, doing so would mean it would become a poor accounting system, cost far more, and still be a poor POS system for many industries.
I support Manager’s ongoing development but that should make it a better accounting system not an expensive and poor POS or ErP system.
