Improving Report Exporting options

Hello
I am currently facing challenges with the report function for general ledgers.
To start with, the copy to clip option isn’t user friends, it would be better to have an export function which allows you to download a file in CSV or excel, similar to the option we have with PDFs. Please add an excel button

Secondly, the layout for the general ledger could be improved

What’s wrong with the Copy to clipboard option ?

You open Excel and then paste the from the clip board

What do you mean by “the layout of the general ledger could be improved” ?

Just saying that something could be improved without saying how is just saying something for the sake of saying something.

Explain how you think it could be improved

I sense a bit of rudeness in your reply, but it’s okay

Anyways, the General ledger layout could be improved by separating columns, to have a date, Reference, details Dr, Cr and Balance, to help with analysis and formatting. What we have now is dates and the descriptions as one column. to analyse this I’d have to separate the dates from the descriptions first.

For the copy to clipboard function, I think it would be more efficient to have an export to excel button. We have the export to PDF, why not to excel. There are some cases were the copy to clipboard function doesn’t work, and the data is grouped in one column, for a TB for example.

Does that help clarify my comment?

Yes, that’s much better.

Asking users to guess what you would like is not likely to lead to any meaningful discussion

Please point these out.

Excel existed in the past and the copy to clipboard option gave far less issues and made it redundant so it was removed. The “PDF” is an obsolete feature except that in view screens you can use Print to PDF but that is handled by your system and no longer by a Manager PDF generator.

Firstly, please know that we are all striving to improve the user experience of MANAGER

Adding the option to export the General Ledger in Excel format is indeed a necessary enhancement. Here’s why: most external auditors request reports in Excel rather than PDF. Excel format allows for easier upload and reading within audit software.

Having an Excel export feature for the General Ledger would save a significant amount of time, as it eliminates the need to copy and paste each report individually. Additionally, many other software solutions already offer the option to export all GL reports in one click or within a specified range, making the process far more efficient for users.

As auditors, they often require access to all GL reports, so adding this feature would greatly benefit our workflow by saving both time and effort.

Did you ever try to Copy to Clipboard and Paste in Excel? Please try!
