Imported Business from 20.9.21 to 24.4.17.1441 is Corrupted

I have backup from Manager.io version. 20.9.21 and now I updated to 24.4.17.1441. After import business from the backup, some data seems corrupted and most of the values are incorrect. For example, all my USD invoices are started showing in USD. I was reading the forum and got to know that I need to install 20.9.89 and import the business then upgrade to latest version. When I tried to install 20.9.89 I couldn’t find it anywhere to download even on github. Later I read in some posts that latest version itself import the files properly without any issues. So now I’m not sure which path to go to import my old backup in the latest version.

How does this demonstrate corruption of data?

The latest version of Manager is able to import businesses from any previous version so don’t worry about version 20.9.89 anymore.

I would expect USD invoices to be in USD

That is one of the issue, I’m also seeing incorrect balances in my bank and cash accounts, balance sheet numbers also not matching with the old data. Corrupted may be the wrong term, the import/migration was not happened properly.

Note: I was running dockered version, old one was using docker image from s6s8/manager.io and new version is from cronet/manager.io.

Earlier what I was trying is take a backup from older business by clicking backup button, and tried importing the business, this process not worked properly so I tried different approach and it work, I have given the steps below.

  1. Take a backup of old docker container /data folder
  2. Create new docker container map /data folder to existing /data folder with old docker.
  3. Run the container and login into manager with old password
  4. For the first time login it take some time, may be due migration is happening.
  5. Now the new docker container properly imported the data and all works fine.

Only problem I have now is the Currency Exchange gain (losses) showing off balance due to different currency rates at the time invoices and payments. Anyway this is a minor issue and I can manually update old invoices to fix this.

This essentially means that you run Server Edition (hope that you paid the license fee). Take note of the following regarding support https://www.manager.io/server-edition

We do not provide installation service. Server edition works as a custom web-server. If you do not have an experience with web-servers, please seek local IT specialist or sign up for cloud edition.
