If bank statement is not available in .csv format?

hi
in india bank statement is not available in .csv format . than how can i import bank staement in manager?

What formats are available ?
You are not limited to .csv format.

.txt, .pdf, .excel and html, Delimited, MS Money

Delimited might mean CSV. That term generally refers to either CSV or TSV. Download one and see what it is.

As in Our Bank, they provide 4 types of Formats, txt, pdf, xls, and qif. photo attached bellow.
Only qif supported in manager. But when we import that, Manager produce wrong data.
In manager, All the amount considered as a Credit. (Originally its mix debit and credit).
because of this problem, we do not use importing the bank statement in manager.

bank statement formats

The Excel, or Delimited version can be opened in a spreadsheet program. Then use the “Save as” function to save the download as a CSV.

I try this method, but Manager can not import that saved file, Display message that Missing “Date” column. so this method was not working for me.

Then make sure you have a Date column. Search the forum. There have been topics about this in the past.

Exactly that problem I have facing. Manager show that msg.

Yes it has Date Column. but as you suggested, i search the forum, and I get some things, that manager can recognize …
If you import a CSV file, Manager will recognize the following columns:

  • Date
  • Payee
  • Reference
  • Description
  • Amount
but in our bank statement, the 1st column is Sr No. and other Column headings are different…
banks statements column headings are S. No, Date, Description, Cheque No., Debit, Credit, Balance, Value Date.

You must use a text editor to modify the CSV file to match what Manager can import. Sometimes, what is needed isn’t there. This is not a problem with Manager, just the reality that different banks provide different information in different formats.

Mostly bank call the CSV format the Excel format.
Download the excel format file and see what is the extension. I am sure it will be CSV.
Download one and open it in Excel.

Open if it is an Excel and then save as CSV.

as along it is in Excel format it is easy to manipulate to other formats.
