Hello, I’m trying to understand how to use the custom report feature… Yes I have read the tutorial page
Question: are all the built-in reports possible to construct using the custom report? because I can’t seem to be able to recreate the (Inventory Profit Margin) report.
What I want is a screenshot of custom report that generates (Inventory Profit Margin).
There are similar questions asked but the replies quickly got away from my title.

In other words post screenshots of your best effort to “construct (Inventory Profit Margin) report using custom reports?”
Ok, I’ll try harder and will show my best attempt. But it is possible, right? nothing special about the builtin reports and all of them can be reproduced using custom report right?
Why would you want to recreate the built-in reports using a custom report?
Because I have problem understanding how custom reports work, and recreating that report in custom report feature would help aloooot in my understanding…
And NO, I’ll not post each of my understanding problems… getting this one would be enough for me.
Custom reports create reports from the transaction made within a period
I doubt that you could re-produce the Inventory Margins Report as that involves transactions from periods not included in the report in order to calculate the average cost of sales for each item
@Joe91 is right. You could reproduce the Inventory Profit Margin report. In addition to the problem he cited, you cannot perform calculations in custom reports, other than by grouping. And then you are only summarizing data already there.
