How to capture a service item on the system

Ok have been wondering how do I captured a service on the system, when I do it as inventory and make a sale on am invoice give me a negative inventory on this particular item.

Service e.g cutting & labeling is offered by my employees who in return I pay salary at the end of the month.

Kindly help how I can resolve to this
