How to add inventory items

how to add an inventory item while updating a purchase invoice, becoz while updating Purchase invoice , 1 st I am going on for inventory items Tab, and adding the item then only i can able to , update in the purchase invoice tab…

Is there any other options

You can open a second window with the inventory tab - then you can add a new inventory item at any time without closing the Purchase Invoices tab
