It is already available. Just Right-click on the Inventory tab and select the “Open link in new tab” option. Create the item in the new Manager Window and go back to the transaction tab, the item will be available there. Yes, it is possible to do this with desktop edition too, another Manager window will be opened in a web browser to enable you to create the item there. The same can be done for non-inventory items.
