How can I change from Customer to student?
Using extensions. You have to write a code.
Extensions belong to Obsolete features. At the moment there is not supported way of changing tab names.
While on a day to day basis the school tries to do what is best for their “students”. The school is also a business, it receives income, has expenses, and must at least be financially viable.
From an accounting perspective (which is what Manager addresses) the schools customers are the parents who buy a “student year of education”. This income source (billing address is the parents/care givers address) is very much a customer relationship to the schools business model. As such from an accounting business perspective, the school has customers and they ARE the students. Further when doing the accounts / finances the students should be viewed as customers to ensure ongoing business viability.
The same conceptual conflict occurs with all nonprofit organisations. Just because the business model is not to deliver profits to shareholders, doesn’t mean the business doesn’t need to be financially viable or those paying them money aren’t customers to the business. Even those paying donations are paying customers, just the product received is less tangible.
Imo Manager should continue to label customers as customers even for business which don’t think of financial viability on a daily basis.
