Fixed Asset issue with lock date

Hi,

We are having some issues to create a new fix asset. Once we create we get a screen error mentioned that these cannot be created before the lock date.
Our lock date is currently 31/06/2021 and we are creating the asset in 26/10/2021 but this date doesn’t even appears.

You are creating a fixed asset and including the acquisition cost on the creation - this is not allowed if you have set a lock date

You have two options

  1. If the asset was acquired after your lock date, enter it with zero acquisition cost and then enter the purchase invoice, payment or whatever transaction you need to account for the cost of acquisition.

  2. If the asset was acquired before your lock date (which implies that any reports you prepared previously are incorrect) then you will have to remove the lock date, create the asset and reinstate the lock date
