I have one company doing work for another company; mainly i.t. services. Is there some form of electronic document transfer, where I can send directly from the copy of Manager used by the i.t. service company, to the other?
Send what exactly?
A billing invoice (receivable); which appears in the destination as an invoice payable.
Have you tried setting up Email in Manager?
You can also give the client access to your customer portal where they can find invoices issued to them.

Manager does not have automation. If I understand you well you’d like to send a Manager Invoice that the recipient would automatically find as a Purchase Invoice. This is not possible. @Abeiku gave you the method(s) available to send invoices.
