Editing text fields causes cursor jump to end of line

Using the right-click method to open pages specifically in a stand-alone web browser, here are the results:

Internet Explorer 11.0.140: Not Working
Internet Explorer 11.0.140 (x64): Not Working
Firefox Quantum 68.0.2: Worked OK

Firefox is the default browser on Windows.

Hi Everyone…
I am not sure how i can ask this question so that everyone understands…so im gonna try my best.
i have notice in the last week or two that if i clone a sales invoice and then change the description, the cursor moves to the back of the last word after each letter i type.
so, let say i move my cursor in between two words, to add another word, after the first letter that i type, the cursor will automatically move to the end of the sentence. then i have to move it back with my mouse, type the next letter only for it to move to the back again?
is there anyone else that experience this?
in the picture, you will see that i started to write Caroline, only the C is in the place where i started to type, the rest of the word is at the end of the paragraph.Cursor

Are you also using Windows 7?

I am so sorry that i did not search first.
Yes, windows 7. But i agree, it can’t be expected of me to upgrade my windows for this issue? Will this be fixed or is this just a matter of spending money to upgrade software?

I don’t know if it even can be fixed. This may be an indicator that support by Manager for Windows 7 will have to end. That will depend on why it happens, if the cause can be discovered. I am only trying to identify which operating system it affects.

So now it boils down to see if anyone provides us with the solution? Who can answer my question, do you know?

It would appear that should be done sooner, than later:

Support for Windows 7 is ending. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7.

I tried using the right-click method to open a Sales Invoice in Firefox (this is my default browser) and if I try to edit the description while in Firefox it works fine but when I try it from the Manager Desktop, the cursor jumps to the end so I don’t know if this means it’s a Windows 7 problem or a Manager Desktop problem. As mentioned, this only started happening after the last update or two of Manager.

then it must be the desktop addition that causing the issue as i only use the desktop…

I’m inclined to think this is an artefact in Manager itself where the bug only appears on Internet Explorer 11.0.140. The problem ONLY appears when editing text fields in the sales items in invoice. All other fields, such as, Invoice date, Billing address, Description, editing works just fine.

Question is, where can I download older versions of Manager? If they are not available, why not?

Because, once you open a live business with a newer version it can’t be opened with an older version.

I’m inclined to think that this issue is related to the latest update of Internet Explorer. Downgrading Manager won’t solve the issue.

For those who have this issue, can you open Internet Explorer and go to:

http://www.jacklmoore.com/autosize/

There is a textbox which says “Try typing something…” Could you try this textbox to see whether you experience the same issue with cursor jumping?

Could you try this textbox to see whether you experience the same issue with cursor jumping?

Couldn’t replicate the cursor jumping. Editing worked fine under Internet Explorer.

Could you try this textbox to see whether you experience the same issue with cursor jumping?

Same here, went to suggested website and editing worked fine under Internet Explorer however using the right-click method to open a Sales Invoice in Internet Explorer gives the same jumping cursor problem as when Sales Invoice descriptions are edited using Desktop Manager, the only way it works is by using the right-click method and opening in Firefox.

any news on this issue, Desktop version with Win7? Thanks

The developer just put it into the Bugs category 1 hour ago. That means it should eventually be fixed. But this could also be the trigger for ceasing support for Windows 7 if it turns out it cannot be fixed.

Cheers!

Fixed in the latest version (19.9.32)

Thank you, all good now. Great software, great support

Confirmed to be working now in 19.9.33. Thanks for looking into this.
