I was doing the divisionwise balance sheet and also total to tally. I found lot of place differences. Basically they were all in the balance sheet item where the division was not marked.
I took two days and assigned the division. All entries in the balance sheet divisionwise is tallying to the total but for the interdivisional loan.
Is there any way it can be reconciled. or is there any custom query by which we can find what are the balance sheet entries that is not having the division code assigned properly
this amount is directly reflected back to retained earning account
luckily i tracked back to the books opening for the first time in manager from other system. in that entry there was no assignment of division. once i set that in place all my balance sheet items talied back to the total
Are you saying Assets minus Liabilities didn’t equal Equity on your divisional balance sheet? There is nothing you would be able to do to make it possible and if you did, then it would be a bug. Balance sheet in Manager is designed to balance no matter what you do.
Ideally when i take a balance sheet and total, the seven sum requires to tallying with the total. It was not happening.
When i did the review of my jourals, i found that when i had brought the capital, asset and liabilities as a journal, i did not assign the credit capital to various divisions and that amount was the difference.
i use to rely on divsion exception report but i learnt that it does not capture balance sheet related items, i created custom query to identify and assign the division code and now it is perfectly tallying. it took me a day and i could finish it off.
Now when i post any rule based txn, i am reviewing as a discipline to see whether the entry has an assigned division or not
My child who is an engineer is in a position to relate accounting through your software, as i could give WISIWIG of txn.
