Division Exception Report (DER) - Faulty?

Division Exception Report (DER) - Faulty? - ideas on how to improve results?

running the DER shows only two small expense accounts/transactions for 4 years

if I run a custom report where I set Division as “is empty” I get a bunch of results just for 2024

***************

how I got on the DER and issues with instructions and ChatBot

Found Division Exception Report (DER) in this post

the old guide link is lacking images etc. and asking chatBot “Division Exception Report” it returns complex and seemingly erroneous info such as “Manager does not ship with a built‑in “Division Exception Report” which Manager actually DOES have. In the new guides the instructions are basically “press the button”

just updated to 25.10.8.2927 and still same result as above.

It would be SUPER helpful to have this report find all transactions that do no have a Division so Thanks in advance for working on it when you can.

Hello @Andrew_Vanis,

Divisions do not apply to all Transaction - Lines as some lines (e.g. Accounts receivable) do not accept a user input for Division field and instead inherit the division of the Customer.

Division Exception Report, on the other hand, is concerned with ordinary accounts where Division field is empty and that doesn’t include Control Accounts such as your Accounts receivable.

From this, we can conclude that the two reports you compared, though similar, are not identical. And that’s by design.

Another point worth mentioning is that the reports you are comparing are for two different periods which could result in some false flags such as the first two lines here:
