Desktop Manager ask to access the internet. when blocked, not working

I want to know if Manager needs internet?

My firewall alerts the Manager is trying to access the internet.

Enable or Disable?

When i say disable all Manager does not load anymore!

if we assume you are using desktop edition, after you disconnect your internet still it not working?

I just wodered why it would ask to access the internet?

I just checked the email function in reports and it sent the email as it uses the mailgun.org email servers for email and it would need internet access if the email features are used and may be auto ping to manager.io servers for update?

Is there any way to completelety blocked it from the internet? I am on metered internet and do not want to incur any unwanted charges.

There is an option in Preferences to disable auto-pinging.
