Desktop edition, internet issue

I cannot get Manager to start so I can register. All I get is an error that says “It appears you are not connected to the Internet. Manager requires an active Internet connection to operate”. I am confused as I am connected to the Internet (hence my writing this forum post would not be possible otherwise), and I installed the manager.msi file without any problems, so it seems odd that I would get an error like this. Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts? I’m running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a Compaq Presario F700 with 4GB of RAM, if that helps.

What version have you installed? Desktop edition doesn’t require Internet connection for quite a while now.

I’m facing the same problem. The desktop edition looks for the Internet and says “you are offline, check for internet connection”.

I am using Windows 8 and have broadband connection. I am not sure how to make this work. Can anyone help me please?

Error message is misleading. You don’t need Internet connection to use desktop edition.

What version are you using? Is it the latest from If yes and you still can’t make it work, you might have discovered new issue, send email to and TeamViewer session can be arranged.
