i have just downloaded version 17.4.55
on the landing page it now just has new an open
before it had a place where a company could be deleted
has this changed with this version or am i missing something ?

On the landing page above the list of business names you should see 
Click on the “(remove)”

OK - it appears that its been removed - I will raise this to Bug status
has this happened with version 17.4.55
Can’t tell you, version 17.4.17 has it included.
Instead of Remove link, there is X next to each business on the right side which will let you remove it from the list.
