Deductions on salaries as a percentage

In Switzerland, there are several mandatory legal deductions on salaries, such as Old-age and survivors’ insurance, Disability insurance, and Unemployment insurance, which are calculated as a percentage of the gross salary. Furthermore, these deductions are split equally between the employer and the employee, resulting in different accounting for the company than what is reflected on the actual pay slip provided to the employee.

I have two questions regarding this:

  1. How can I automate the computation of these deductions on salaries as much as possible ?
  2. Is it possible to generate proper pay slips for employees directly in manager.io and doubling every legal fees automatically to account for the employer part ?

Thank you in advance for your assistance and prompt attention to this matter. Your guidance will greatly contribute to streamlining our payroll processes.

Q1. No - although you can use an expression such 120.00 * 0.05 in the amount cell which will give 6.00
Q2. No

In most cases, unless you have a really simple payslip, the best option is to use a payroll program or service configured for the country you are working in - there are often cheap online services available which will ensure that all legal and tax calculations are handled correctly

@Joe91’s answer concerning question #2 is incomplete. Although Manager will not do this automatically, the program will handle the situation. What you describe consists of a deduction for the employee’s share and a contribution for the employer’s share. This is covered by the Guide about payslip items.

Further, if an employee’s pay is constant from paycheck to paycheck, you can create a recurring payslip, so you only enter the calculations once. This is also covered by a Guide.

Thank you both for your helpful responses. I have been able to make progress by setting up a manual solution, which seems to be working well for my current needs. I appreciate your support and suggestions throughout this process.
