Dark Mode Any Time Soon?

The answer was not “…No…”, but “No there isn’t yet…” If you read the post quoted by @shahabb in earlier post in this topic you would have noticed that the developer said:

I also asked you kindly to familiarize yourself with FAQ - Manager Forum which explains why I moved your new topic under this existing topic that already was elevated into the ideas category and no longer uncategorized.

Maybe you should. Considering that the post quoted was in December 2023 do not expect dark mode anytime soon as there are lots of other things that require attention.

This is simply not true. If it was it would not be half-way and implemented since December 2023.

That is questionable. The prevalence of light mode in accounting and many other applications such as Word processors and Spreadsheets is that:

Light mode reduces asthenopia (eye strain) by preventing excessive pupillary dilation, especially in bright environments. It minimizes frequent contrast shifts that can lead to visual discomfort and cephalalgia (headaches).

It enhances visual acuity by providing a high-contrast background that improves saccadic movement efficiency and reading comprehension. Unlike dark mode, it prevents halation, a phenomenon where light text appears to glow, causing blurred vision and difficulty focusing.

For individuals with astigmatism, light mode reduces photopic glare, making text easier to read. It also benefits older adults and those with presbyopia, as it supports better accommodation and focal stability.

By resembling printed text, light mode reduces cognitive load, preventing mental fatigue and digital eye strain (computer vision syndrome). When used with a circadian-friendly warm color filter, it minimizes melatonin suppression, reducing sleep disturbances.

Light mode is ideal for daytime use, extended reading, and individuals with refractive errors or accommodative dysfunctions. It supports ocular health and visual comfort, making it the preferred choice for prolonged screen exposure.
