Customer contact number format

Hi,
When I create a new customer contact I enter their telephone number in the telephone field as it should be ie 01522 or 07939 (UK landline/mobile format) but when I press create the number format changes. The leading 0 is lost and the number is formatted with commas like this 1,234,567,217.
I have tried using the international code format ie +44 followed by the number but the plus sign is removed and the number formatted the same.
The telephone field was pre-created (presumably by the programmer) but I can’t find any format options for the field.
Can you advise how I can correct the issue? If I create my own custom field will that replace the program version?

Regards,

Dave

What version of Manager are you using?

There has not been an inbuilt field for telephone number for a number of years now.

Use a Text Custom Field.

Thanks for your reply. I regularly update the software. Would it be an inherited field? When I click on new customer this is what comes up (see image). As you can see it says the contact name and telephone are a custom field but the have never appeared in custom fields in settings. I can create a custom field for telephone but I then have the telephone field with the contact name as well as the new telephone field.
Has the contact name field somehow got embedded in the customer form? Can I edit the customer form?

Dave

Hi again, I just found the fields under obsolete features. Sorted now.
