Does anyone know how to create a custom trial balance report that includes the starting balances of each account and does not include a net profit section? The default trial balance report subtracts computes for net income. I’m just hoping to have a sum of all the debits and credits (of each account) side by side without it computing for the net profit/loss.
What you just described is called the “General Ledger Summary” report and it’s available in Manager right next to the Trial Balance report.
Yes, but I was hoping to have the sums of the closing balances (for debits & credits) side by side. The General Ledger Summary only totals the debits and credits (not their closing balances)
The General Ledger Summary shows the closing balance of Asset, Liability and Equity accounts. Income and Expense account transactions do not carry forward so you only require the Net Movement that is already included.
