Custom Report

I’m looking to make a report like the one I have attached. Can anybody help?

You need to post your best attempt at a report and the resulting report. Then tell why it does not satisfy your needs. Otherwise you are soliciting work from other forum members, which violates our rules.

Sorry about that! Here’s the closest report that I’ve been able to run (1st). When I click the total the 2nd picture is what pops up, which is close to what I’m looking for. There are several problems with this view. It doesn’t come up a report (like the other traditional reports that I can email as a PDF), the # column is the receipt number instead of the invoice number (which makes it hard when multiple invoices are paid with one payment), and the description is what is listed on the receipt, not the item or the invoice (and if you change the description in the receipt, it will no longer show the customer name and invoice number on the receipt pdf)

I hope this helps to clarify what I’m looking for!

Well, to begin, you are looking at a profit and loss statement, not a custom report. And it is on the cash basis. So the only transactions that will show when drilling down on an income or expense account balance will be receipts or payments.

Yes, it did. You showed this with your screen shot.

That is the consequence of cash basis accounting.

I have no idea what you mean by this. You need to illustrate with screen shots.

No, it does not. What are you looking for? And what does any of this have to do with non-inventory items?

Thanks for the catch on the cash/accrual. I can accomplish most of what I’m looking to do if I can make a report that looks like this

from the information on here

the description is the same name as the non-inventory item (which is why I referenced that before just in case it made a difference)
