Could you please test new "Print" button?

More progress. Balance sheets look OK on both companies.

Fixed Asset Summary looks acceptable, but layout is not identical to screen. For example, Accumulated depreciation headings are single line on screen, but wrapped in PDF. And although vertical alignment is not all compressed like many other reports, it’s a little different than on screen.

Customer Statement and Supplier Statement have many layout problems. They basically look similar, including the stray code at the top:

On remaining reports, most error messages are gone. But I still get them for:

  • Inventory Value Movement
  • Inventory Profit Margin

Except for P&L, BS, Customer/Supplier Statements, and two inventory reports listed above, all other reports can be converted, but display the vertical compression and misalignment of totals problems mentioned earlier. One example will suffice:

Hi @lubos

I have just tried the Supplier Statement report generated as transactions for date range and it looked okay , the font may have been a bit small but alignment and details looked clear , however this was shown at the top of the report as part of what was going to be printed out . I am using the Cloud version

@media print { div.frame h3 { text-align: left; font-size: 24pt } }table.invoice-lines td.center { padding: 5px }table.invoice-lines td.description {
padding: 5px 10px; }table.invoice-lines td.amount { padding: 5px; padding-right: 10px; text-align: right; white-space: nowrap }

I didn’t paste report or screenshot as I am not good with editing. I hope this is still helpful for your testing purposes.

Just updated to Version 16.10.26 and noticed when printing a Quote the heading “Quote” font size needs to be larger and padding bottom needs to be increased.

I’m getting the same thing with the PDF button on customer statement report.

The screen view has the logo on the right but the logo moves to the left in the PDF.

This is from version 16.10.27.

I also notice that all PDFs generated seem to be for A4 paper size. Is there a plan to add ability to select paper format?

The latest version (16.10.29) is fixing layout issues with customer statements and supplier statements and possibly fixing errors when trying to generate inventory reports on Mac.

@itmoto, should be fixed in the latest version too.

@Abeiku, what edition of Manager are you using? Desktop? And if so, which operating system is it on?

Customer and Supplier Statements look good.

All inventory reports can be generated without error messages. They now join the large group already described with vertical compression and totals misalignments.

Several of the reports in this last group, besides the compression and alignment issues, produce wrapped text in cases where the screen version does not. This is often true when there is abundant horizontal space for the headings. While it doesn’t necessarily look bad or unprofessional, it seems that the PDF should match what’s on the screen. I think this might be related to the A4 formatting issue I mentioned in my most recent post.

16.10.26

Windows 8.1

Padding bottom looks better but could be larger and font size needs to be larger still.
Sorry just would like all documents to be uniform.
The “Invoice” heading needs to be larger too.
Here is how it looked before.

Now

And same with Quote now

Oops, I was not aware of this thread. Sorry.

I would like to request the posibility for the internal PDF generator to be able to optionally generate reports in “landscape” orientation.

When having many columns, the left most column (typically account names) presently gets wrapped over 3-4 lines which makes the report almost impossible to read…

For example, this P&L:

Will be like this with the “PDF” button:

All form titles have been made smaller. But they are of uniform size across all tabs.

Yes just noticed that.
I am using an custom template for invoices which is now larger than standard size invoices. Will just have to reduce font size in my template to make all forms uniform.

Just some feedback using Ubuntu Server Version 16.10.34. When using the print button there is a line at the top of the page in small print which gives the report name and company then to the right of the page on the same line the web address is given of the manager server. Could this text be suppressed when the print button is used?

Now at the bottom of each report page the page number and number of total pages is printed at the bottom left and then the bottom right this gives the date and time. I like this footer it is really good. Now would it be possible to have that on the PDF button generated report? Currently when the PDF is generated the page and date / time footer does not appear. In addition with the PDF button the header report name web address is not generated which is great, well in my view anyway.

By the way when using the PDF button in reports I find that only the General Ledger Transaction Report generates the following error.

The print button on the other hand works correctly.

The header and footer I think that has to do with your Browser settings from Page setup

As you can see in the desktop edition everything looks as it should look,

but in server edition something is wrong

I’ve noticed invoices weren’t generated very fast. This should be fixed in the latest version (16.10.38).

Windows 7 Ulimate.

The strange is that in server edition with IE the pdf is the same like
the one is coming out from desktop edition, the problem is when I use Firefox

Ubuntu Server 16.10.38 no longer has the “Request Entity Too Large” error captured above for the PDF Button.[quote=“compuit, post:55, topic:7300”]
General Ledger Transaction Report

Using the “Print Button” in Firefox the reports printed show a header like this

and a footer like this which is great

When the PDF Button is used there is no Header and footer which is nice.

Also I suspect that the Browser may be responsible for these added headers and footers on each page. Is this so, because should I use a different browser the header and footer for print button are slightly different? Is that correct?

Using the “Print Button” in Chromium the header shows as follows:

The footer in Chromium shows as follows:

I believe it is only necessary to show the page numbers, date / time when printing rather than the URLs etc as well.
The PDF generator being without them is OK because when financial reports are assembled there will be different page numbers for continuity throughout the assembled financial report.

I’m going to close this topic. Please continue here:
