Copy To Clipboard Problem Windows Desktop

Desktop version 25.11.2.3092

Since the end of September 2025 a change has been made to the operation of the ‘Copy To Clipboard’ button presented at the bottom of reports. The data sent to the clipboard no longer contains the full content of the report, as it is lacking the heading information (Company Name, Report Title, Report Period, Report Basis).

This makes it unusable for import into an Excel sheet designed to accept specific reports as inputs, as the report identifiers and qualifiers are now missing, so they are unable to be validated for use.

Was the copy restricted for some purpose, or was is this an error soon to be corrected?

I noticed the lack of headers being copied and ended up copying the header title etc from the report on the actual report page. This can lead to errors especially if typing the title. I believe the whole report including title/description should be copied to clip board to avoid errors.

I also believe the Trial Balances report needs to show the start date entered which should also appear on the report and copied to clip board

I just updated to V 25.11.3.3093 and I now do not have an option to copy to clipboard. I have spent many hours setting up excel spreadsheets to report what I want. They are useless now!

Update to my previous post. My thanks to “Geezer” about the button now at the bottom of the report. I missed that. Yes, the reports do not copy to the CB as before. Why the change of button location, and why do they not print as before? Is all of this a harbinger of the elimination of this function? I really hope not!

I think this problem has been resolved now.

Nope. Not for the desktop version, that is. Just downloaded and installed v 25.11.5.3094 and still no headers and (really not that important but) button still at bottom of report.

I just tried a copy to clipboard of customers all it pasted the column headers

Edit…wrong version

To be used in an automated import (such as Excel via macro) the header information is valuable data, without which the numbers lack meaningful context.

I just ran and copied-to-clipboard with subsequent paste into excel one or two reports from every group on the reports page. No headers with any report. Could you be more specific as to the “customer” report which worked for you? Thanks.

Another change with the copy to clipboard appears to be changing the sign for expenses on the P/L, which now import as positive rather than negative as used to occur. Reported appearance is unchanged, but the underlying data can no longer be used as imported from the clipboard.

The problem with this issue and this conversation, and way way too many others of this type is that the programmers (or is that THE programmer) is far to fixated on releasing a steady stream of updates/new features/etc to fully check the work before releasing to users. Never mind asking if new “features” are wanted by users. If I was reviewing Manager for a large installation this would disqualify Manager from consideration. Overall this is a great program, but consistency and a thoughtful approach to development is very important.

Also same for B/S liabilities. It’s clear that the powers that be are not interested in fixing this problem. I opted for a shortcut workaround which will do until the end of the year as I am looking for an alternative program to use as of Jan1. One that will not make sudden and unplanned changes.
